Khary Mathurin aka DJ K is a DJ, party promoter, and sound designer based in Toronto. He is the co-founder of the Queer and Trans People of Colour parties Wyze Gyal at Wayla Bar which decentralizes people of colour parties from downtown Toronto to the “East End” and Mink at the Beaver. He also co-founded the Black queer shapeshifting art project The Gravelpitt which explores the textural and narrative potential of sound. Lastly, Khary is the sound designer for Patrick Salvani/Ms. Nookie Galore’s FilipinX Drag Horror Cooking Show Sarap at the 2017 Rhubarb Festival at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, Mayworks Working People and the Arts Festival at Alliance de Francais, and Invisible Footprints at OCAD University.
