The presence of Detroit Asian Americans activism is often excluded from general narratives of the city and Asian American history.
We will build upon collective awareness and knowledge by facilitating a tour of Detroit through the lenses of Asian American justice organizing and geographic movements. Rebecca J. Kinney is a teacher and scholar of ethnic studies and urban studies. She grew up in Metro Detroit and is currently work on community development history of Rust Belt Chinatowns.
