Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and social media platforms alike are notoriously developed based on the courtship and solicitation of predominantly White brands and celebrities. Through an intersectional lens, this session will explore how the National Youth Pride Services social media team galvanized the influence of Black Twitter to reach a more exclusive community, Black QUEER Twitter in the marketing and promotion of materials to bring about the social awareness of Black LGBTQ culture.

Jayson Douglas

Jayson is a native of Baltimore, MD and serves as the new interim board member of the Event/Travel/ and Community Team of National Youth Pride Services. He enjoys traveling, reading, spoken word poetry and all the neat things that his new home in Cincinnati has to offer. He earned his BA in Political Science from Bethune- Cookman University, where he took a particular interest in international human rights and public policy. Currently, Jayson is completing a MS in Criminal Justice through the University of Central Florida. He is anticipated to graduate December 2018. Jayson works full-time at the University of Cincinnati as the Program Coordinator for the LGBTQ Center., University of Cincinnati- LGBTQ Center
