WGVU Public Media is trying something new — we are training leaders to be storytellers through broadcast media, then lending them our platform. The idea is to increase West Michigan`s capacity to influence public narratives affecting children and families of color. The first strategy is to provide workshops in civic engagement, leadership, and media production to minority leaders in Grand Rapids. Then, we will produce media designed for stakeholders to discuss racialized outcomes.
