What is the role of journalism in achieving liberation for all people? We’ll hear from journalists, communicators, and organizers about the historic roots of movement journalism, current challenges within the journalism field, and social movements that this approach addresses. Participants will join the discussion and shape movement journalism as an idea and a practice. Folks will leave this session with a framework for the sessions that follow.

Chelsea Fuller is the Senior Communications Manager at Blackbird and the Movement for Black Lives Communications Table co-chair. She also co-chairs the National Association of Black Journalists’ Young Journalist Task Force.
