We’ll review the Research Justice Track’s mission and vision, review what past AMC’s have developed, update our track frame with attendees, and strategize how we can develop and sustain a national network of radical researchers. We will walk away with a plan of action for maintaining our network and defining research justice.

Diana Benitez

Diana Benitez is a Research and Data Analyst at Advancement Project California. I conduct research, data analysis and data visualization in the realms of health, housing, and education. Advancement Project California is a next gen civil rights organization working to foster upward mobility in communities most impacted by economic and racial injustice. We build alliances and trust, use data-driven policy solutions, create innovative tools and work alongside communities. I most recently worked at the UCLA Ralph and Goldy Lewis Center for Regional Policy Studies and T.R.U.S.T. South Los Angeles Community Land Trust researching and developing maps that consider policy, affordable housing, transportation, public space, community development and neighborhood change. In 2016, I earned a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs with a focus in community economic development and the intersections of the built environment and health.
