Rethinking the Public Restroom: Signage Design Workshop

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

This workshop explores gender binaries, the body, identity, public space, and social politics. Restrooms are a space in which many trans*gender and non-binary individuals face discrimination and can provoke anxiety. As a call to action, we want to deconstruct the restroom to build a new system of signage. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how images and language have historically contributed to the construction of social norms, specifically gender and sex in public spaces.
