Playable Zines: Making and Distributing Bite-sized Videogames

Most people think of videogames as being big, blockbuster escapist fantasies, or addictive puzzles used to fill time. This session will explore how to use free and accessible tools like Twine, Bitsy and Scratch to create games inspired by zine culture: Tiny digital interactive experiences that can be shared with friends or a broader audience online. Participants will learn how to imagine videogames on a more intimate scale, emphasizing the personal, political and artistic side of the medium.
