Wikipedia’s anyone-can-edit ethos has resulted in documented gender and racial coverage gaps and policies amplifying media echo-chambers. Wikipedia articles inadequately cover allegations of harassment and sexual abuse even as the #metoo and #timesup movements are ousting celebs/media producers from positions of power. During this interactive session, we’ll identify and address limitations of Wikipedia’s policies and culture, and learn how to host local edit-a-thons that amplify radical voices.
