Black and Brown Healing in the Wake of Climate Catastrophe

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

A meet-up for healing and magical manifestations amongst those whose communities have been affected by (un)natural disasters. Women, queer, and trans folk are welcome. We are prioritizing people from similarly impacted communities such as Houston, New Orleans, Ferguson, Flint, Detroit, Puerto Rico, etc. To attend this session please fill out this form
This meet-up is being organized by Healing Justice Delegation (Puerto Rico): a group of organizers, artists, and educators who came together after the passage of Hurricane Maria to build a stronger sense of support for those doing organizing work that prioritizes healing and community care.  We come from disparate groups, including Centro de Comunicacion Estudiantil of the student movement, CDPEC (umbrella organization of Comedores Sociales and Centro de Apoyo Mutuo Caguas),  Olla Comun, Colectivo IleFinca Conciencia and CEPA (a sponsored project of the AMC) who convened the group. We're interested in learning with others effected by disaster capitalism wanting to transform "aid" dynamics and build critical forms of solidarity that builds capacity for our movements, rather than drains them.
