Julia Vallera

Food Fight Vermont
Julia Vallera is an artist, educator, and technology program manager who explores creative and free expression through community engagement, both in-person and online. Her professional experience includes work with nonprofit organizations, art collectives, academic institutions, community centers, foundations and government initiatives. Between 2012 and 2018 Julia led on-the-ground programs at Mozilla Foundation that focus on digital equity and community technology. In this role, she worked with local and global stakeholders to increase open practices, facilitate engaging workshops, do public outreach, and design curriculum. She currently teaches media and technology classes at Community College of Vermont that focus on ethics of technology, digital design, and online safety. Julia received her MFA in Design and Technology from Parsons The New School for Design. Her work has appeared in several festivals, conferences and publications including Maker Faire NYC; The New Museum Ideas City Festival; Brooklyn Art
