Julie Young is a Canada Research Chair in Critical Border Studies and Assistant Professor in Geography at the University of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. Much of her research to date has focused on how refugees, migrants, and advocates in communities around the Canada-US and Mexico-Guatemala borders interact with and challenge those borders. These struggles challenge us to re-think borders as social, political, and ethical processes
