Bryan Bello

Bryan Bello is a fellow at the Center for Media and Social Impact, a PhD researcher at American University’s School of Communication and a community filmmaker. He cofounded the nation’s first homeless filmmaking cooperative with eight men and women surviving the streets of Washington D.C. The group's five documentaries have been viewed across the country and screened by the Department of Justice and Smithsonian museums. In 2018 he completed production of the Tribeca Film Institute backed, New Neighbors Project with families resettled from the Democratic Republic of Congo to the state of Montana. For the community collaborators on all projects, Bello has helped to run retain copyright to their films and have earned income from their screenings.
