Diana Diroy

Diana Diroy is a documentary filmmaker, editor, photographer, and a video production youth educator. She is the co-founder of Her Girl Friday, a Brooklyn-based group dedicated to empowering women in journalism and other forms of non-fiction storytelling by creating opportunities for learning, networking, and collaboration. Diroy's work reflects her interests in telling stories about climate change, social justice and women's issues. Her most recent work includes, Somehow We End Up Here, a multimedia performance combining dance and journalism, highlighting true stories of immigrant and refugee experiences. She also recently co-edited the documentary short film Water Warriors, which screened at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festvial and DocNYC. She loves teaching and has taught youth media programs at the Educational Video Center and Teacher's College. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Diroy is currently based in New York where she continuously seeks to collaborate and make magic with other folks.
