Brave Bridges; Indi.Visible; Survived & Punished (NYC)
Jillian Lane White is an Afro-Indigenous organizer and media maker living in Crown Heights, Brooklyn on occupied Lenape land. She is the founder of Brave Bridges (www.bravebriges.org), a project that seeks to facilitate meaningful dialogue and build stronger connections between feminist organizers working across movements in NYC. Her political and artistic identity has been greatly influenced by the works of Queer Feminists of color like Gloria Anzald√∫a, Barbara Smith, and Audre Lorde; multi-disciplinary creative documentarians like Zora Neale Hurston; and the many generations of ancestors and spirits that use(d) their creativity to ensure our collective survival.
