Kaitlin Popielarz

Wayne State University
Kaitlin Popielarz is a teacher educator and PhD student at Wayne State University's College of Education in Detroit, Michigan. Kaitlin is a former secondary and adult education social studies teacher, which is where her passion for powerful learning communities blossomed. She is a member of We The People of Detroit's Community Research Collective and is an active volunteer with various organizations in the fight for equitable education. Kaitlin's research and teaching interests include connecting teacher education programs to the local grass-roots community in order to provide future educators the opportunity to learn place based and culturally sustaining pedagogy for the learners they will teach.
