Laila Abdelaziz

Fight for the Future
Laila Abdelaziz currently works at Fight for the Future, a digital rights nonprofit, where she leads digital political campaigns on issues such as net neutrality and surveillance. She also serves on the board of directors for 88.5 WMNF community radio. Formerly, Laila was the director of legislative and government affairs at the civil rights nonprofit, CAIR Florida, where she advocated on behalf of the organization's membership with local, state and federal governing bodies. Laila has almost 10 years of experience as a community organizer and has worked on local, state, national and international campaigns on issues ranging from human rights to democratic engagement. Laila is a Palestinian-Russian-American who immigrated to the U.S. in the 90's when her family sought political asylum as a result of the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories.
