Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha

Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha is a queer disabled nonbinary femme writer and cultural worker of Burger/ Tamil Sri Lankan and Irish/ Roma ascent. The Lambda Award winning author of Dirty River: A Queer Femme of Color Dreaming Her Way Home, Bodymap, Love Cake and Consensual Genocide, she is also, with Ching-In Chen and Jai Dulani, co-editor of The Revolution Starts At Home: Confronting Intimate Violence in Activist Communities. A lead artist with the disability justice performance collective Sins Invalid, she teaches, performs and lectures across North America. Her new book of essays, Care Work: Dreaming Disability Justiceand book of poetry, Tonguebreaker, are forthcoming from Arsenal Pulp Press in fall 2018/ spring 2019. She is also an tarot reader/intuitive counselor, a member of the collective Badass Visionary Healers from 2010-2014, and someone who has been involved with healing and disability justice space at AMC since 2011 as a healer, workshop person and space coord.
