Zack Bissell

Living Arts
Zack Bissell is a musician, world traveler, educator, and arts administrator originally from rural northwestern Michigan. He graduated summa cum laude from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Arts and Humanities, a minor in Spanish, and a specialization in Latin American and Caribbean studies. He completed a year of service with AmeriCorps at an LGBTQ community center in New Mexico (N'MPower), taught English in South Korea, and managed a gourmet oil and vinegar store. Zack has been trained and certified in suicide prevention, youth development and youth care, YPQA (Youth Program Quality Assessment) training, motivational interviewing, spanish-language training, harm reduction, experiential/adventure education, emergency medical first aid, emotional first aid, HIV prevention and education, HIV testing, and teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL). His efforts in the 2016 Peer Mentors program led to a successful summer. Zack's management has increased access to the program for many english-learning students and boys of color. He has also managed the successful implementation of a 30-member Parent Advisory Committee and continues to lead in that effort. He is spanish-bilingual.
