Amanda Vigil is a San Francisco born and raised artist and educator teaching film & video production for the last 12 years. Currently, in her role as a Career Pathway Specialist, she supports the performing arts, computer science, and media arts programs across the district. Before joining SFUSD, Amanda worked as an artist and filmmaker. Amanda is committed to developing and supporting sustainable working relationships for artists and educators of all ages to live and thrive in San Francisco. Amanda has a BFA in Film & Video from the California Institute for the Arts (CALARTS) and is proud to focus her talent in the service of San Francisco diverse urban youth. Amanda joined the workforce at the age of 12 after the sudden death of her father. As the youngest of five girls, she is dedicated to providing development opportunities for young women in media, computer science, and the performing arts. When not at work, you can find Amanda hard at work on her creative craft.
